Vintage Hofbauer Red Bird Crystal Trinket Jewelry Box Dish 1987 Bavaria Germany

Hofbauer Crystal is part of the history of leaded glass crystal in the Bavaria Germany area. Hofbauer thrived in the mid to late 1900's and eventually closed their doors. But not before making varied lines of collectibles. Hofbauer Byrdes Crystal is noted for its traditional bird design cut into the glass. Sometimes a three-dimensional bird finial will top the design of a candy dish or compote.

This is a beautiful piece from the Ruby Red Byrd Crystal line. A Hexagon shaped box approx. 4.75 in x 4.75 in and about 2.75 in tall. This was purchased i West Germany in 1987 for my mother and she displayed it in her curio cabinet. This would make a beautiful gift for any occasion, an anniversary or Valentines or Christmas!
